French and Indian War French and American Indians against the British
Both sides incurred a lot of debt British felt the colonists should pay their part since the war was fought for their land taxes

Taxes/Acts King George III needed to pay off debt and felt the colonists needed to pay taxes to help Colonists were upset that laws could be passed effecting them even though they had no representation in parliament

Quartering Act-1765 British soldiers could stay in any private home they wanted. Families would need to house and feed them.

Stamp Act of 1765 Taxed all legal commercial documents, including diplomas, contracts, newspapers, and even playing cards!

Stamp Act continued Colonists protested the Stamp Act by organizing and forming the Stamp Act Congress in NY city to decide what to do.
