Carlile Bancshares – Prophix story
Operating since: 2009 Head office: Fort Worth, Texas Annual revenue: Unknown Number of employees: Unknown G/L or ERP: Fiserv, Sage Company website: Company background: Formed in 2009 by longtime Texas bankers, Carlile Bancshares, Inc. was established to invest in community banks throughout the Southwest including Texas, New Mexico, Oklahoma and Colorado. Founders Tom C. Nichols and Don E. Cosby have a legacy of banking experience with over 30 years buying and operating financial institutions. While their history includes purchasing and operating distressed banks, as well as direct acquisitions from the FDIC, they have maintained a focus on community banks throughout the years. Carlile Bancshares has significant committed capital to provide the resources to acquire community banks and achieve the company’s goals over a multi-year time period. Business problems that lead to evaluating CPM, adopting Prophix: Financial Consolidation– Carlile currently has 6 subsidiaries, on various G/L systems, and has plans to acquire more banks (entities) in the future. With the company growing rapidly through acquisitions, it becomes more difficult and challenging to consolidate financial data from different data sources and perform intercompany eliminations via Excel.

Carlile Bancshares – Prophix story
Their Prophix solution: Scope: financial consolidation cube, consolidated reporting templates. Consolidated financial reporting (central repository of data was critical for the client - they needed to know that their data had “one truth”). Use of manual elimination entries via data entry and Infoflex to automate and streamline the financial consolidation and reporting processes. Importing data from Fiserv via Business Analytics (generally, Fiserv doesn’t allow you to connect via an ODBC, but you can schedule a flat file data extract using BA). This is important to note because a lot of financial institutions use this G/L system.
