It takes about 24 hours for the earth to make a full rotation.
This is why we have day and night.

6. Explain The earth also revolves around the sun.
It takes about 365 days (or one year) for the earth to make it all the way around the sun.

7. Explain So, what is an axis? What is the center of earth?
An axis is the imaginary pole going through the center of earth.
What is the center of earth?
The point around which earth rotates.

11. Earth’s Axis: Not So Straight!
The earth’s axis is tilted about 23.5 degrees from vertical.

Without a tilted axis, we would not have changing amounts of daylight and night!

We would still have different weather conditions across the face of the Earth, but at any point on the surface the weather would always be the same (no more seasons!).
