Lillian Scott and David Schaffer were planning to run off together. Only a few people in the town knew about it. Lillian knew that David had access to the towns people’s safes and also knew that Mrs. Peabody kept a valuable safe at the Blue Mountain Lodge, because she was the town gossip. Lillian convinced David to murder Mrs. Peabody and then steal the money and jewels from the safe. David Schaffer killed Mrs. Peabody with a pair of Lillian’s hair cutting scissors around 9:00 p.m. on the night of August 21st and then opened the safe and stole the valuables inside. Lillian and David also planned to leave the country to Costa Rica, with the money and jewels they had stolen. Did our class foil their plan and now will they sit in jail to pay the time for their crime? Good work detectives!
