Diabetes Burden Death caused by Diabetes affects all ages and mostly those under the age of 60 Four out of ten adults with diabetes in the MENA region are undiagnosed Economic impact of diabetes is very high in comparison to the cost of prevention and health promotion Global, regional and national numbers on prevalence of diabetes are continually increasing

National Diabetes Strategy Key Priorities
A tender has been awarded to start 8 campaigns for Diabetes in the State of Qatar Set national agenda for awareness and prevention Currently in progress, the awareness campaigns need to be delivered first – interdependency Set national curriculum for patient empowerment Six National Diabetes Clinical Guidelines and associated pathways have been developed and published Define guidelines and pathways e-learning diabetes modules is developed to support the National Diabetes Strategy and will be available to all Healthcare Professionals Develop and deliver diabetes-specific continuing medical education A separate online course has been created to provide HCPs with insight into each of the six Clinical Guidelines and Pathways Train all HCPs on guidelines and pathways Currently working to design and develop a National Diabetes Registry Build infrastructure for information management and research (National Diabetes Registry) The National Guidelines for screening of Diabetes and its Risk Factors is currently in development Prepare and launch national screening program
