2 Some clarifications before starting
ETSI’s main goal is to maintain pre-eminence in the swift production of Word Class Standards and specifications. Again and again we strive for efficiency in terms of development times (especially ENs). In order to do so we have to improve our processes to respond to our members’ wishes but also keep in mind all the actions that are part of the draft European standardization package. Following the approval by GA#70 and BOARD#116 of the proposed changes to the ETSI Rules of Procedure and Technical Working Procedures to clarify and rationalize the EN Approval Process (ENAP), the e-Approval application was reviewed to adapt to the new process. One of the major changes that you will not see in the following presentation is that the European Commission is now informed at every stage with ETSI European Harmonised Standards (HSs) from the standstill period up to the publication of the ETSI HSs. The European Commission is also invited during the whole process to provide comments if necessary via one of the ETSI National Standards Organisations. The publication of the "new" e-Approval application was launched on 28 February All the European Standards (ENs) submitted to an EN Approval from 1st February 2018 benefit from the changes explained in the next slides. The ENs submitted prior to the 1st February 2018 will be processed according to the previous process. © ETSI All rights reserved © ETSI All rights reserved

3 the ENAP process changes
If the vote is successful, the EN will be published. If the vote is unsuccessful, a TB resolution meeting will need to be organized to discuss the comments. If no comments have been submitted during the EN Approval Procedure, the tool will automatically compile the results and will determine if the EN is adopted or not. The results are automatically made available on the closure date. If comments are submitted during the EN Approval Procedure, the results will not be displayed at the closure date. The results will be displayed only after the “Comments categorization assessment” has occurred and the nature of comments validated by the Technical Officer. © ETSI All rights reserved © ETSI All rights reserved

4 Some clarifications about the ENAP process changes
In case the submitted comments have raised major issues, the Technical Body may decide to send the EN on a 2nd EN Approval Procedure (AP) or on Vote. The process remains the same as before. What really differs is the “comments categorization assessment” process and validation. The following display depends on your profile and access rights. © ETSI All rights reserved © ETSI All rights reserved

It is important to carefully categorize your comment. If a single technical comment is submitted, the « comment categorization assessment » is « activated ». For this reason a definition has been added to help the comprehension of what a technical comment means.

12 If comments are submitted, they are shown under the NSO’s details
