My name is Ms. Ashley Simmons. I am a eighth grade teacher at Power Center Academy. I have one older sister who is deaf (cannot hear or speak). My favorite color today is turquoise. My favorite food is “soul food”. When people first meet me they think I am witty & compassionate.
Academic Goals
This year my goal is to prepare my students to be successful in life as productive citizens by giving them the tools they need by the way of ALGEBRA! I absolutely LOVE math & desire to share that passion with scholars. I plan to be deliberate in my instruction to students & offer my time and assistance that allows every scholar to be successful. Another goal is that scholars will be PROFICIENT or ADVANCED on TCAP & Algebra EOC.
Future Career
I absolutely love teaching & plan to stay in the education field. Within a couple of years, I plan to continue my education by enrolling in a doctorate program.

Academic Goals
This year my goal is to make honor roll for every report card. I plan to take the following steps: take good notes in class, ask questions when I don’t understand, study my notes before the test, and complete my homework. In addition, I want to tryout for the debate team. I am a big talker. I think I would like to debate topics with other kids.
Future Career
I plan to become a lawyer. I would like to be a sports attorney. It combines my love of sports and law. I know I need to go to college and law school.
