Summary of discussion CPA members asked approximately 20 questions of the two Board members in attendance, Peter Wilson and Caroline Spencer. The main topics and queries raised by members in attendance were: How the Board intends to continue communicating with members The limited engagement between CPA Australia and local Bunbury members, and how this has affected local member sentiment and level of involvement The need for CPA Australia to have a stronger voice on issues affecting the profession, including advocacy in local and national politics The need for public practitioners to develop a broad set of skills to support their clients (such as counselling), and the challenges these members face in developing these skills Whether the governance issues of the past year have had a negative impact on membership numbers The discussion also covered: Brand awareness – recent reduction in promotion, and member desire to raise the profile of CPA Australia including opportunities for targeted campaigns Local networking and professional development – appetite for more for local Bunbury members Continuation of quality content in INTHEBLACK CPA Program – member acquisition challenges in a competitive market Whether the new Board would pursue a merger with CA in the future Board communications – some members preferred written articles from the Board rather than videos Attendance – members were disappointed at the low turnout of members to the Forum
