Natural gas is a fossil fuel primarily consisting of methane, commonly used for electricity generation and heating.
Decomposition of wet organic waste in the absence of oxygen and subsequent upgrading of the product (biogas) produces renewable biomethane that can be used as a vehicle fuel or injected into the national gas grid (via ~3,900 miles of LTS pipeline).
