Monday’s Vocabulary - PreAP ~ Week 6 ~ Sept 26 – 30 ~
Part 1 - Requirements: Write a page on the provided topic(s). This assignment is assigned every second week and due at the end of the week assigned. It is considered homework which you are to work on at home, but may work on in class, if you finish classwork early. You must use proper English language and structure (e.g. introduction paragraph, body paragraphs and conclusion paragraphs). It must be a minimum of a page in length on regular notebook paper. Use Biology vocabulary terms covered in class and thoroughly use your notes (internet resources are permitted, however, using your notes is highly encouraged).

(a) Describe the structures and/or draw the different biomolecules, including carbohydrates, lipids, proteins, and nucleic acids. (b) Describe the functions of the different types of biomolecules, including carbohydrates, lipids, proteins, and nucleic acids. (c) State the element (carbon, hydrogen, oxygen, etc.) of each biomolecule, including carbohydrates, lipids, proteins, and nucleic acid. (a) Describe three different types of carbohydrates; ensure to describe their appearance, elements (carbon, hydrogen, etc.), functions, and where they can be found (i.e. what type of food). (b) Describe the three different types of lipids; ensure to describe their appearance, elements (carbon, hydrogen, etc.), functions, and where they can be found (i.e. what type of food).

Part 2 – Creating a Class “Word Wall”: Each student will be assigned a key term for this unit. You must either draw or print a picture that represents the true meaning of this term and have the written key term. This drawing/picture must be on a separate paper from Part 1, and should be approximately a 1/2 page in size. Ensure to include your name (first and last), date, and period on the back of drawing/picture.

Requirements: (1) Get a notebook paper, (2) Write your first and last name, period, and date at the top of the paper, (3) Title the page: “Week 4 – Monday’s Vocabulary”. (4) A. Use the first five terms in a sentence (left column). Use the word appropriately to illustrate its meaning. B. Write a definition for the last five terms (right column).
