Overview The Problem INTRODUCTION Studies on women active in ICT unveil that higher number of women who take up a digital career would benefit the digital industry, women themselves and Europe's economy. A change in policy is needed, particularly because of an alarming drop in female ICT graduates and because the presence of women in the STEM area (science, technology, engineering and math) can address the gender gap acknowledged in the ICT sector. The Solution WPC will create an integrated framework to define, prepare, assess and also equip with educational tools adult women and their daughters to acquire and advance their programming skills thus promoting participation of women in the STEM/ICT sector. The WPC framework involves the dissemination of KEY INTERNET OF THINGS (IoT) CONCEPTS and the elaboration of a new curriculum comprising engaging training material (i.e. text, video tutorials and videogame) under a Social Learning Environment enhancing training and peer-learning. Research 3D Printing INTRODUCTION 3D printing is the latest thing to excite anyone who loves easy-to-use interactive technology. Engineers and scientists have actually been working with this amazing equipment since way back in That’s the time when an American engineer named Charles (Chuck) Hull invented the first ever 3D printer. He called it his SLA machine, which stands for stereolithography apparatus. Some in the industry refer to part of the 3D printing process as Additive Manufacturing (AM), but we’ll use its practical name here—3D Printing. This will keep the guide consistent and easy to read. Why use 3D printers? 3D printing is well known across Europe and has been developing intensively since it has become a part of children's educational process. Therefore, most schools already have 3D printers and if not, good and inexpensive printers are available. User expectations Some printers only print text—others text and graphics. The technologies and materials used also vary, and the way the machine extrudes ink to paper. 3D printers are even smarter. 3D Printing In a Nutshell
The 3D printing process is no longer difficult for the home user once you grasp the basic principles. OK, so printers, printing materials, printed objects, and 3D printing software can all vary. Yet despite this, the process from design to end product follows a similar path. Here’s how it looks in a nutshell: User has access to a 3D modeling application or a 3D scanner User creates a virtual design (3D model) of the object they want to print in 3D User typically saves their design as a Computer Aided Design file, or CAD for short User slices their CAD file before sending it to the printer User uploads the sliced CAD file to the 3D printer Printer reads each slice in the 2D file to create the three dimensional object WOMAN POWER CODE |

Research Internet of Things (IOT) INTRODUCTION The Internet of Things or IoT is an umbrella term for a broad range of underlying technologies and services. They are devices that can be connected to the Internet and sense, gather, receive and send data to communicate with each other. IOT's have been around for many years and are now much more advanced than smart phones and laptops. We now have ‘Smart Homes’, wearable technology and even cars that can drive themselves. In 2013 there were a total of 9 billion connected devices and in 2025 it is predicted that there will be 1 trillion. IOT will soon become a completely invisible part of our lives. The Internet of Things (IoT) is, arguably, the hottest topic in IT. Every organisation wants to participate in the IoT, and many IT professionals want to know how to add IoT skills to their resume. Raspberry Pi Internet of Things (IOT) INTRODUCTION The Raspberry Pi is a platform WPC are considering to use to create our framework. Research concludes that it is a great platform for building Internet of Things project, as well as learning about the IoT. There are lots of options for learning about IoT, but nothing really beats the hands-on experience. The RasPi is a popular platform because it offers a complete Linux server in a tiny platform for a very low cost. Some recent projects that have been executed using Raspberry Pi are: Creating a temperature and humidity sensor Pi in the sky - monitors how high your rocket travels SoftSynth - combines switches, sensors, and digital-to-analog converters to create a device that creates music Dog Treat Dispensing Robot “The Devil lies in the detail ” WOMAN POWER CODE |

- non-observance of deadlines (delay in preparing technical and financial reports and sending them to the project management team) exceeding or unspending the allocated budget - non-observance of performance (quantitative or qualitative) parameters, - non-observance of the financial rules or failure of a project partner to fulfill its tasks and leaving the project team. Low level of motivation among project partners partners will be encouraged to express interests, suggestions and share the work accordingly to their tasks. - Poor communication among partners – a systematic communication plan will be introduced, discussed and agreed at the kick-off meeting. - Weaknesses not delivering tasks in time – on line meetings and follow up communication will always help partners to be updated on the current situation of specifics tasks. - Unclear roles - detailed work plans will be specified and agreed at the kick-off meeting.

Innovations Ltd) for the development of a training programme for young individuals on the subject of Robotics - Robotics is an effective, fascinating and motivating way to introduce young people, especially women to coding - Utilising the non-working school time (i.e. after school, summertime, afternoon) available in a constructive way to set up HUBS in youth centres/ educational institutions

- Only 29 out of every 1000 female graduate have a computing or related degree - Women leave the sector mid-career to a greater extent than men - Only 19.2% of ICT- sector workers are managed by female bosses - Security attacks on IOT systems - Virus attacks on computers and IOT devices - Sudden changes in allowed standards for the internet of things - Security flaws inside social networks - The mobile industry keeps pushing forward while overlooking some security concerns of the past.
