YEAR 9 Mini GCSE Homework Project

2 In house estimated new GCSE Grade boundaries:
Task: You are to produce the equivalent of 6 A4 sides of research into Graffiti and about the Artist ‘Banksy’. Your project should include: -Facts about him and his technique -Your opinion about his work -a stencilled image produced ‘Banksy’ style -Choose some graffiti themes to write about from the next page Your project will be marked using the Art GCSE marking framework for Assessment Objective 1 ‘Art History’ as follows: In house estimated new GCSE Grade boundaries: 9 97% – 100% % – 96% – 92 % % – 87% 5 66% – 75% % – 65% % – 57% % – 47% % – 37% U 27>

3 Banksy Research themes
Write about graffiti words / street language: i.e. bomb, burning, throw-up, slam, dubs, angel, paint eater etc… What impact does it have? Art or graphic design? Legal or illegal? Is it really self expression? What is the purpose of Graffiti? Why do people do it? Art work or vandalism? Banksy Research themes Does it contain hidden messages… What are the different ways of creating it? What music inspires this… Is it valuable to society? Should this style be recognised as an art form? Does the style differ from country to country? What is the best place / location for graffiti… Who does it influence the most?

4 Presentation: 1. Present a mixture of writing and pictures in a sketchbook. This could even be homemade! 2. Present all of your work onto a large design sheet. ? 3. Create a project box to house all of your work. 4. Choose a presentation style of your own…

5 Deadline: The week beginning Monday 16th April 2018.
(First week Back after the Easter Holidays) Hand your project into your Art teacher during your normal Art lesson during the week stated above.
