Digital filing & note-taking
Digital filing and note-taking Just before we look at how to physically use Weebly to create the Learning Portfolio, you will need to consider how and where you are going to store the artefacts and evidence needed to populate the Portfolio You won’t be ready to add items to your Portfolio immediately and some of them will require you to write reflections etc., so you will need to store them for review and retrieval at a later date. You can keep items in folders on your own PC if you wish, but just in case of hardware failure or technical issue it would be safest to save items somewhere in the cloud so they are backed up and accessed easily from any device. There are many different tools you can use for digital filing and note taking – and you may be using one ore more of these already. Some of the more popular tools are services like Google Docs, DropBox, Evernote and OneNote. There is a list of links on the SOELP site for tools you may want to check out and you can always use others if they suit your way of working. The important thing to take away today is that as soon as possible you need to set up your central repository for information to go intro your Portfolio so that you can start adding as you begin your work.

Getting Help with your Learning Portfolio
So you can see that the Weebly tool is quite easy to use to create your Learning Portfolio What we have done in this workshop is to set up the shell of your portfolio. There are a few more things that will need to be done to complete and publish the portfolio down the track and there are other videos to help you with that. Your next step once you have set up the shell of the portfolio is to go and personalise it with your own look and feel to convey your professional identity. As you go through the process of creating the Learning Portfolio, you will undoubtedly need help at some point and there are several places you can get it Firstly, I recommend the SoELP site as this is packed full of videos, information and useful resources like the Learning Guide that will help you create a great portfolio
