Welcome to Ms. Sheldon’s Math Class
2
A little about me … I’m a self-proclaimed math geek. I love logic puzzles, factoring and Trig identities are my favourite! I have wanted to be a math teacher for as long as I can remember. I have an Honours BSC degree in Pure Math from the University of Western Ontario. I was the only graduate from my program during my time there. This is where I went to class everyday!

My family … I am married to an automotive-technician (mechanic), Steve. He works at Newmarket Nissan/Infinity. He will be the first to tell you how important a math education is. I live in Barrie, next door to my mom, step-dad and brother. My dad died in a boating accident when I was 13 and my older brother was diagnosed with schizophrenia a few years ago. Being different his whole life, he was often bullied, as a result, mental health and bullying are something near and dear to my heart. I am the mother to four wonderful children…

Supplies needed … A 3-ring binder. Grade 9s are encouraged to by a large binder as there is no textbook only handouts for this course. Scientific calculator. There is no need to spend a lot on this. Two great options at WalMart are: Casio FX-300MS Plus, $15.47 Sharp EL531XGBWH, $14.97 Note: The $10.47 SHARP will not be sufficient for future grades. Pencils with erasers. Purchase these in bulk as students seem to go through A LOT of them. Ruler. A protractor and compass set is NOT required.
