4 Peer Support Teachers (PSTs)
PSTs are teachers who have shown to be leading practitioners in their own schools and are keen to share their skills, knowledge and understanding with other colleagues. Typically, PSTs share their expertise by demonstrating their pedagogy in their own setting, rather than visiting other schools. This is a new role – generated by a local need for the support and expertise of leading practitioners.

There will be a variety of work contexts for PSTs Supporting the NQT and RQT Programmes Individual teacher’s professional development Supporting specific schools and/or Key Stages

6 PSTs - Working for the Alliance
Focus and logistics for the observation is agreed prior to the visit Typical observation format Time Activity 8.30am PST meets with visitors and provides a context for the observation 9.00am-10.30am PST is observed in their own class 10.30am-11.30pm PST provides an opportunity to discuss the lesson and the effective strategies used in their own classroom

7 Fees and Payments Peer Support Teachers
Standard fee to the supported school for a ½ day (observation and discussion afterwards) is £120 £20 is kept by the Alliance to support the administration of school to school support £100 is paid to the PST’s school

8 PST Designation Process (1)
Download an application form from the website, complete it and to: teachingschoolalliance.org Applications must be submitted by 19/05/17 & will be assessed by the Alliance’s appointment panel Simple application form Short Supporting statement – do not exceed space provided Headteacher support & reference key – shows commitment to your involvement

9 PST Designation Process
Shortlisted applicants will be invited to complete an assessment exercise consisting of: a formal observation of their teaching in their own context, a discussion with their headteacher/line manager; and a formal interview. This is anticipated to be completed by 20/06/17 The Alliance will notify applicants of the outcome as soon as possible afterwards
