4 Objectives – Session I By the end of this session you should be able to: Plan the design and structure of a survey to capture data in a coherent way. Use Qualtrics to create a range of question types, including: Multiple Choice, Text Entry, Matrix Tables, Sliders and Rank Order. Utilise survey logic to adjust survey flow and question content, as determined by earlier responses. Share and collaborate on surveys with colleagues. Customise the Look & Feel of a survey. Adhere to good survey design practices to gather the data you require, effectively.

By the end of this session you should be able to: Use blocks and survey flow to arrange and order a survey. Distribute a survey in a range of ways, including anonymous distribution, and through social media. View and download survey response data. Utilise reporting tools to analyse and present survey data.

7 Question Types and Simple Logic

8 Likert scale A Likert scale can be used to measure behaviour and (especially) attitude. Comprised of several Likert items; statements that respondents evaluate and respond to – typically by agreeing or disagreeing. Likert scales can be used to effectively measure behaviour and attitude. Especially good for attitude questions because we can use multiple statements to measure different facets of an attitude. Minimises bias as subjectivity of the wording of each question is less influential on overall result. (Other scales are: Completely Like Me, A bit like me, Not like me OR Very Frequently Frequently Occasionally Rarely Never)

9 Likert scale (2/4) Results for each Likert item can be analysed individually… …or summed into a Likert scale to establish a wider measure of the attitude.
