2 Local Employment Planning Councils
Pilots are intended to improve local labour market conditions through research and labour market information to drive innovation in service delivery based on solid, local evidence. Local Employment Planning Councils A strategic approach to workforce planning is becoming important to assist organizations, regions and communities to respond to factors: aging workforce current and projected labor shortages a desire to increase productivity evolution of technology and tools. As local issues become more complex, a cross‐sectoral response is often needed.

3 Planning Council Objectives
Create a network aimed at improving conditions in communities through improved collection & dissemination of LMI, community engagement to drive approaches to planning and delivery of employment and training services. Planning Council Objectives LEPC will: Improve employer participation rates in employment and training programs Improve rates of service coordination amongst local service providers; and Improve integrated local planning of Employment Ontario and non- Employment Ontario services amongst service providers.

Central Planning Table Collaboration, joint-knowledge building to develop a collective response to the local community challenges Effectively plan employment and training service delivery Address the workforce development needs of employers

6 Intergovernmental Committee (IGC)
Purpose These Terms of Reference will provide a framework for how the DWA LEPC Subject Matter Working Groups (SMWG) will function. As a function of the Central Planning Table, SMWGs will work to strengthen local capacity to address local workforce development challenges and opportunities through an active consultation with local community, provincial, municipal partners. SMWGs will connect key industry, labour and community representatives and their ideas, resources and services to plan employment and training service delivery, generate local labour market knowledge, address the workforce development needs of employers, and help shape changes to the local labour market.

7 IGC members will: Represent their respective sector and support linkages with government, at all levels Provide input and direction on the appropriate labour market planning framework Identify and provide linkages with different levels of government that can assist in identifying program gaps
