2. District Mission Statement
The mission of the East Butler Public Schools is to provide a quality, success-oriented program for each individual student to become a responsible lifelong learner through a caring school, family, and community partnership.

3. Statement of Philosophy
The East Butler Public Board of Education builds its educational philosophy on the goals and aspirations of the people living in our communities. We believe that our school program shares responsibility for the growth and development of young people with parents and families, churches, the business community, and all school district patrons.

4. Purposes of Assessment
The purpose for administering assessments is to determine if the achievement target is being addressed. This allows us as a school district to look for ways to improve instructional methods to better suit the needs of the students in our district.

East Butler administers the Terra-Nova assessment to all grades The state standards tests are reported at grades 4, 8 and 11, though assessments are given to all grades.

The uses of assessment depend on who is utilizing the information. There are different users of assessment--students, teachers, parents, administration, school board, or others.
