Includes everything needed for trainers to deliver all START and quickSTART training content. Provides train-the-trainer materials and learning resources, including competencies, quizzes, and activities. Includes printable student certification exam questions. START Study Guide Is divided into three sections for the participant: knowledge that all hospitality employees need knowledge specific to the position common tasks broken down into a step-by-step method quickSTART Study Guide The quickSTART Study Guide includes the above, but replaces Job Breakdowns with a Skills Validation List used to sign off that trainees/students know how to perform the tasks. Both programs includes certification exam scan sheet.

18 Certification Those who complete the START/quickSTART training are prepared to take the professional certification exam for their specific position. There is no time in position requirement for the exam. To qualify, candidates must: Complete course material (employee knowledge, position-specific knowledge, Skills Validation List/signoff sheet*) Pass 30 questions certification exam with a score of 70% or higher *The Skills Validation List does NOT need to be submitted to AHLEI as part of the certification process.

19 Certification Successful candidates will receive a certificate, and a lapel pin that may be worn on a uniform to designate mastery of requirements.
