Gather “What wisdom can you find that is greater than kindness?” Jean Jacques Rousseau

5 Kindness Word It’s the start of a brand new year and time for New Year’s Resolutions. (Although some may have been broken already by now.) Most people make resolutions NOT to do things, like picking their nose, eating chips every day, biting their fingernails or drinking milk from the carton.

6 Kindness Word Some people make resolutions to START doing things like eating five portions of fruit and veg a day, going to the gym, learning to play the ukulele or even doing all their homework on time. New years resolutions are often made in the hope of making our own lives better.

7 Kindness Word Last week you explored the school value of kindness in your assemblies. Maybe this years resolution could be for the benefit of others. Maybe we could resolve to perform random acts of kindness for others whenever we see the opportunity. What impact could this have on You Others The whole school?

8 Kindness Smile. Say, “Thank you” to your teacher for a good lesson.
Respond Smile. Say, “Thank you” to your teacher for a good lesson. Hold the door open for someone. Ask someone you never usually talk to what they did at the weekend. Bring a box of chocolates to school and share them out. Swap places with the person behind you in the lunch queue. Offer to take someone’s dinner tray back with yours. Say something nice about someone behind their back. Pick up some rubbish and put it in the bin. Leave a “Thank you” note for the school cleaners on a classroom whiteboard.
