4 SINS, SACRIFICES, AND OFFERINGS

11 Sacrifice and Sacrament
Do you see the connection between our sacrifice and the sacrament and the Savior?

12 (12:36 min)

13 Elder Ballard “After the Savior’s ultimate sacrifice, the ordinance of the sacrament replaced the ordinance of sacrifice. … This change moved the focus of the sacrifice from a person’s animal to the person himself. In a sense, the sacrifice changed from the offering to the offerer. … “… Instead of the Lord requiring our animals or grain, now He wants us to give up all that is ungodly. … “Elder Neal A. Maxwell said: ‘Real, personal sacrifice never was placing an animal on the altar. Instead, it is a willingness to put the animal in us upon the altar and letting it be consumed!’ (‘DenyYourselves of All Ungodliness,’ Ensign, May1995, 68).

14 Writing time Write a paragraph describing the Sacrifice and Atonement of Jesus Christ and what it means to you, based on what you’ve learned from Leviticus.

15 Leviticus 10: Forbidden Leviticus 10:1-7 Leviticus 10:8-20
What happened to Nadab and Abihu because they misused the law of sacrifice? Leviticus 10:8-20 How does the Lord expect you to be different? What happens to priesthood holders who misuse the priesthood today?

16 At All Times… “The priesthood should be a part of you at all times and in all circumstances. It is not like a cloak that you can put on and take off at will. The words you speak and your everyday behavior affect your ability to serve. Your behavior in public must be above reproach. Your behavior in private is even more important” True to the Faith “The purpose of priesthood authority is to give, to serve, to lift, to inspire” Elder Richard G. Scott
