Polarization of the neuron's membrane: Sodium is on the outside, and potassium is on the inside. (at rest)
Action potential: Sodium ions move inside the membrane (when stimuli is received)
Repolarization: Potassium ions move outside, and sodium ions stay inside the membrane.
