Room Selection Process
Current freshmen must live on campus next year to complete the housing requirement (less than 26 credits at the end of the fall semester) Transfer students must live on campus for one academic year You are signing up for a FULL YEAR (both fall and spring semesters) of on campus living. You must submit the RSP Form by March 23, 2018 and pay the $150 Room Deposit by May 1, 2018 to participate in the Room Selection Process 150 Years, Still Your Home

ROOM SELECTION PROCESS, STEP BY STEP STEP TWO: Fill out your RSP Form by March 23, 2018 Log in to myRedDragon, go to Student Tab Scroll down to Residence Life and Housing section Select “Housing Process and Information You will be redirected to the housing director Go to “Forms” at the top menu bar Select “Room Selection Process Form” Read and sign Room and Board License Fill out and submit RSP Form You will receive a confirmation page 150 Years, Still Your Home

STEP THREE: Select or search for your roommate(s)
ROOM SELECTION PROCESS, STEP BY STEP STEP THREE: Select or search for your roommate(s) Select “Housing Information” and go to “Roommate/Suitemates” You will have the option to search for roommates by… Last name, first name, or (Simple Roommate Search) Matching answers to roommate Matching Questions (Advance Roommate Search) Request your roommate (note: they must confirm your request) Only individuals who have completed their RSP form will be part of the selection process 150 Years, Still Your Home

Group Selection All suites will be available during regular room selection You must fill an entire room, suite, or quad in order to select that space (e.g. 4 students to a quad, 6 to a six-person suite, etc.) Participation in a group does not guarantee you will be able to select a suite, quad or apartment during your selection time 150 Years, Still Your Home

STEP FIVE: Pay your room deposit
ROOM SELECTION PROCESS, STEP BY STEP STEP FIVE: Pay your room deposit Room deposit of $150 is due by Tuesday, May 1, 2018 You can pay this at any time during RSP- you don’t have to wait to choose a room first Pay $150 either… myRedDragon > student tab > scroll to Residence Life and Housing > select Pay Room Deposit Online (recommended) At the Student Accounts Office, Miller Building, Room 323. 150 Years, Still Your Home

Room selection process, SELECTION TIMES
Selection Times can be viewed starting March 30, 2018 Credit Hours – Selection times are based on the number of credit hours you have at the end of Fall 2017 Senior = 90+ credit hours Junior = 56.5 – 89.5 credit hours Sophomore = 26 – 56 credit hours Freshman = 0 – 25.5 credit hours If you are in a group, we recommend that the person with the earliest time ticket, select your room/suite Students earn an additional 3 points towards their selection time for each semester they earned a Dean’s List GPA at SUNY Cortland; Students in a triple (who have met certain criteria) will also receive 1 additional housing point. 150 Years, Still Your Home

What if I do not complete my RSP Form by March 23, 2018?
You must wait until May 1, 2018 and fill out a waiting list form Waitlist selection will take place on June 8, 2018 We recommend that even if you are unsure if you will return to SUNY Cortland that you complete the RSP 150 Years, Still Your Home

What if I do not pay my deposit by the May 1, 2018 deadline?
You will be removed from your room Once your deposit is paid, you will be assigned to an available room If you are experiencing financial hardship and unable to pay your deposit please visit the Financial Aid office, located Miller Building, Room 205 as soon as possible and before the deadline. 150 Years, Still Your Home

What if I want to swap/change my room?
Complete the Room Change form that will be available after your selection time is active; for swaps visit Residence Life and Housing with the person you want to swap with If you decide that you want to change your room assignment after May 1, you can do so during Swap Days. Swap Days occur June 6 and 7. You can only change your assignment. After Swap Days, your room assignment will be permanent 150 Years, Still Your Home

Can I move off campus mid-year?
If you choose to live on campus (especially juniors and seniors), do not assume that you will be released from your housing for the Spring 2019 semester. When signing the Room and Board license, you are agreeing to live on campus for the full academic year. The only exceptions are for those students with academic reasons to leave (i.e. student teaching, graduating, study abroad, etc.) 150 Years, Still Your Home

Harassment policy Harassment
When a student selects a room, they have the right to not be harassed by any other student who may have wanted that room. Please note that any harassment of another student, including sending abusive or threatening messages by any means, will be processed through the student conduct office and could result in the forfeit of your on-campus housing assignment (according to the College Code B10– Electronic Use Policy and C1-Harassment). 150 Years, Still Your Home
