2016 SATs Changes more rigorous abolition of levels
new grading system- scaled score range of scaled score:80 to 120 expected standard 100 Two Maths papers, two Reading papers GPS paper non-statutory Writing- Teacher assessment over time 2016 saw the abolition of Levels and the first test based on the new curriculum. More rigorous- changes to the Maths paper, quick recall, no calculators New marking and grading system- tests are both set and marked externally teacher assessment-Writing

Sample Questions Arithmetic
Reading test 1hour to read booklet and answer 33 questions , long answers, one /two words, selected answers. This question assesses understanding of modal verbs to indicate degrees of possibility. 45 mins to answer 46 questions /46 approx 58 sec per question

2 mark question Tests knowledge of fractions, X and subtraction

How to best support your child
Ensure your child: attends school every day completes their home learning reads every day practices Maths every day explains their learning to you knows the key facts has a quite space to study gets enough rest

Your child is supported by: small in class focus groups weekly homework small intervention groups regular assessment of learning
