LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMS
Two leadership development programs are offered to support NAVAIR mission accomplishment to enhance: Professional enhancement of leadership, managerial talent, and productivity skills Development of high potential employees Broadening of horizontal linkage across organization and service boundaries Journey Leadership Development Program (JLDP) Eligibility Civilian GS 9-13 / Wage Grade Equivalent Civilian STRL Pay Bands; salary equivalent to GS-09 step 4 to less than GS-14 step 4 for all others Military E4-E6 and O1-O3 NAVAIR Leadership Development Program (NLDP) Supervisory civilians GS-12 (GS-12 step 4 equivalent for other pay bands i.e., STRL/FWS) who have graduated from the Journey Leadership Development Program (JLDP) Civilians GS-13 to GS-15 (GS-13 step 4 equivalent for other pay bands i.e., STRL/FWS) Military E-7 to E-9, CWO2 to CWO5, and O-4 and above

JOURNEY LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM (JLDP)
Required Elements Input into the Developmental Program Tool (DPT) Get a mentor within 90 days Complete Individual Development Plan (IDP) within 90 days Formal Training: Emergenetics & Problem Solving Change: A Leader’s Challenge Mentoring Momentum for Leaders Emotional Intelligence: A Foundation for Success Pillars for Effective Leadership Leading with Energy - Wellness Seminar Shadow Assignment Shadow at least three different senior leaders Senior Leader Interview Interview one Senior Leader Provide written summary of interview to JLDP Program Manager Mentor Have a mentor within 90 days of selection into program / Register in iMentor Individual Development Plan Complete an IDP form with mentor and supervisory input within 90 days of selection

NLDP – MANAGEMENT TRACK
Program elements: Core Leadership Training Leadership Orientation and Foundational Training Navy Capital Hill Workshop Washington Arena Seminar Global Perspectives Seminar NAVAIR Leadership Capstone Seminar Focus on Executive Core Qualifications (ECQs) in curriculum Leading Change, Leading People, Results Driven, Business Acumen, Building Coalitions CPI Concentration Champion or Green Belt Lean (GB) Training Formal Mentor / Individual Development Plan (IDP) / Progress Reviews Shadow one senior leader at least once per year while in program Attend at least one leadership and/or diversity seminar per year while in program Complete a Developmental Assignment (six months minimum) Not required for Military participants
