4. Medical Research
In the 20th Century the treatment of disease has been transformed by the development of treatments for a wide range of illnesses.
We now have access the pills that kill microbes that cause disease (antibiotics), medicine to treat high blood pressure, cortisone to treat arthritis, tranquilisers for reducing tension and anxiety and other pills to treat numerous other illnesses as well as development on the contraceptive pill.
Medical research continues to look for all different illnesses including cancer.
Whilst the above has brought incredible benefits there are remaining issues:
