2 Format Your Paper First, divide your paper by drawing a series of stairs from the upper right corner to the lower left corner The left-hand side of the paper is the upstairs, representing a character’s strengths The right-hand side of the paper is the downstairs, representing a character’s weaknesses or challenges

3 Creating the Upstairs Side
Upstairs side contains criteria representing a character’s strengths, dreams, and goals Two Quotations [with citations] Representing a character’s strengths, dreams, and goals Must be at least two sentences long Two Images Must relate to citations Image Descriptions Four (3 words or less) around each image. Must relate to image

4 Downstairs Side Downstairs side contains criteria representing a character’s weaknesses, nightmares, and obstacles Two Quotations [with citations] Representing a character’s weaknesses, nightmares, and obstacles Must be at least two sentences long Two Images Must relate to citations Image descriptions Representing a character’s weaknesses, nightmares, and obstacles Four (3 words or less) around each image. Must relate to image

5 Guidelines Quotations, images, and brainstorms must tie-in to theme
Must be multicolored No lined paper Use parenthetical citations for quotes Be creative, unique, even unusual
