Huntington’s disease is a progressive disorder caused by a defective gene. This affects the central part of the brain, targeting the nervous system muscular system.

What cells,tissues,organs, and systems does it affect?
Huntington’s affects the brain, causing the nervous system and muscular system to lose control of itself, therefore causing movement defects, uncontrollable mood swings and decrease in thinking skills.

Symptoms Poor coordination Involuntary movement Depression
Short term memory loss Lack of emotion Slowing or stiffness Symptoms can show in ages as young as 2 and as late as 80.

Treatments, medicines, or cure...
Diagnostic A diagnostic genetic tests are now available, the test can confirm the defective gene. Treatments, medicines, or cure... Currently there is no cure for Huntington’s, no way to slower or stop the changes of the brain. Doctors can prescribe patients with medicines like antidepressants and atypical antipsychotic drugs.

Main causes of Huntington’s
This disease is is passed through genetics such as parents. If your mother or father had/have Huntington’s you may also be in risk of inheriting the disease as well. What does this illness do over time? This disease affects the central brain, that controls your mood, thoughts, actions,movement, and thinking skills. Therefore over time causing the body to lose control over its muscular and nervous systems. Also mental states such as anxiety and depression become very relevant.
