1 PowerPoint Manual A guide to using PowerPoint to make your own “Jeopardy” Game from a prepared game template. Created by: Teri Bohr for: ETC Dr. Gary Tucker

2 How to get the game template.
Double click the Internet Explorer icon on the desktop. The Flowing Wells home page will appear. Change the Schools pull down menu to say High School Click: Curriculum then Extended Algebra 3-4.

3 How to get the game template cont’d
Right Click on the words: DownLoad a Jeopardy Template  and Save Target As… (If you are viewing this on the internet, you can right click on the words on this page and do the same thing) You want to save the Jeopardy Template to your desktop. Close Internet Explorer (by clicking the X in the upper right hand corner)

4 Beginning PowerPoint! On the desktop, double click on the Jeopardy Template Icon. Your PowerPoint Jeopardy Template should load and you are on your way!!!

5 How to Use PowerPoint You will modify the existing text to include your questions and answers. The following is a short tutorial to introduce you to some of the features of PowerPoint.

6 Using the “Slide Sorter View”
Click on to see all of your slides. Double Click on one Slide to see it in “Slide View”.

7 Using the “Slide View” Click on to see your slide in Slide View
Click on any text and/or objects to modify them. To insert equations and/or objects, click Insert, Object

8 Using the “Slide View” To add equations and mathematical symbols, click: Insert, Object and find Microsoft Equation 3.0. You can use the Equation Editor to insert symbols like:

9 Using the “Slide Show” Click on to view your show.
You can click on the buttons or use the arrow keys to advance through your show. Use the Esc button on your keyboard to get out of the “Slide Show”

10 Playing the Show Click on the Slide Sorter icon.
Click once on the 1st slide Click on the Slide Show icon

11 Playing the Show You now see the first slide that looks like a jeopardy game board. Let’s select category 1 for 500 points. Click on the 500 button under category 1.

12 Playing the show You should see:
Click the button in the bottom right hand corner of the screen and you should see:

13 Playing the show Click the button in the lower right hand corner of this slide and you should return to the main slide.

14 Adding your own Q & A’s Use the slide sorter view to find the slide for category 1 for 100 question, double click on it to view it in Slide View. Click on the word Question and add your own text (Who is your favorite teacher?).

15 Adding your own Q & A’s Now we need to find the slide for Category 1 for 100 answer. Use any method that you like to find it and view it in slide view. Click on the word answer and change it to the correct answer (Ms. Bohr).

16 Adding your own Q & A’s We can test our Q & A by viewing the show. Make sure you have the 1st slide selected and click on the Slide Show icon. Select Cat. 1 for 100 to see how you did.
