My Life as a 9 Year Old By Ava Akers

Mom calls to my room, “Ava, wake up. ” It is 6:30 A. M
Mom calls to my room, “Ava, wake up.” It is 6:30 A.M. and time for me to get ready for school. I have a long day of school ahead. Being a nine year old isn’t as easy as you might think. Actually, it can be pretty tough. Every day at school I study math, language arts, reading, science, writing and social studies. My teachers want me to score mastery on the subjects and score distinguished on my work. So do my parents. At school, we take tests, we read thick, chapter books and write a LOT! For those 7 hours I try really hard. And then there’s homework! But after all that, my day isn’t finished.

After school I am a member of STLP, Girls on the Run, Academic Team, Chorus and Jr. BETA. I also take violin lessons and play in an orchestra at Campbellsville University. I play on the Explosion soccer team and am a Girl Scout Junior too. Exhausted yet? I love to play soccer! My dad is the coach and several of my friends are on my team. We practice twice per week and play games on Sundays. When I was little I hated playing soccer but now I ask him if we can stay at the soccer fields longer.

STLP stands for Student Technology Leadership Program and is a club that meets every Wednesday. I joined STLP because I like working with technology and I thought it would be fun and it is. One of my favorite activities in STLP is creating Prezis.
