2 What is a decision-making process?
A logical series of steps to identify and evaluate possibilities and to arrive at a good choice.

3 The 7 Steps in the Decision-Making process…
Define your needs or wants. Analyze your resources. Identify your choices. Gather information. Evaluate your choices. Make a decision. Plan how to reach your goal.

4 What are lifestyle goals?
The ways you want to spend your time, energy and resources in the future.

5 What are values? Your values are the beliefs and principles that you want to live by. What do you think influences someone’s current values?

6 Six General Values Responsibility Relationships Compassion
Fulfilling obligations in a dependable and trustworthy way. Relationships Family and friends are important to you. Compassion Caring deeply about people and their well-being.

7 Six General Values Courage Achievement Recognition
The ability to conquer fear or despair. Achievement You want to succeed in whatever you do. Recognition You want other people to appreciate and respect your accomplishments.

8 Data, people or things? The data category involves working with information, ideas, facts, symbols, figures, or statistics. The people category includes working with people or animals. The things category involves working with physical objects of any size (tools, machinery, vehicles, etc.).

9 What’s the difference between an aptitude and an ability?
An aptitude is your potential for learning a certain skill. An ability is a skill you have already developed.

10 What is personality? Your personality is the combination of your attitudes, behaviors, and characteristics.

11 What is self-concept? The way you see yourself if your self-concept.
Everyone has highs and lows, so your self-concept may vary slightly from day to day.

12 What are learning styles?
The different ways that people naturally think and learn are called learning styles.
