2 Purpose Intended for graduate students with potential research interest in ad hoc/sensor networks. 

3 Objective I: Obtain a solid background for research in ad hoc/sensor networks.

5 Objective II: Develop a good taste for problems, solutions, and presentation. Read/discuss good papers Compare with so-so papers

6 (Ideal) Objective III Write a publishable article.

Week 2: Time Synchronization in based MANETs Week 3: Power Saving and Clock Synchronization Week 4: Coverage and Connectivity Issues in Sensor Networks Week 5: Routing in Large Scale Ad Hoc and Sensor Networks Week 6: Location Services for Geographic Routing Week 7: Geographic Routing without Location Information Week 8: Selected papers from Mobihoc’05 and Mobicom’05 Week 9: Selected papers from Mobihoc’05 and Mobicom’05 Week 10: Selected papers from Mobihoc’05 and Mobicom’05

8 Grading Plan The final grade will be based on:
50% Presentation: each student is responsible for presenting paper(s) and leading a discussion on a selected topic. 50% Term paper: each student will write a term paper, which ideally will lead to a publishable article.
