2. About English 9 Honors
Please check out the materials on the class blog to determine which class is best for your student.
Major difference between 9 and 9H: The portfolio (a sample is on the class blog). An enrichment assignment second and third trimester (book/film).
Many students will read the same books and select the same paper assignments as the honors students, but they will not take Honors (so they will not complete the portfolio). They will, however, be well prepared for English 10 Honors, so if they are concerned or unsure, it will be fine if they take English 9 this year and then take 10H next year.
If the student is not interested, but you are, please defer to the student’s choice.
