KSDE is launching a committee-based model standards development process for Computer Science Start from developed standards and frameworks Computer Science Teachers Association K-12 CS Standards International Society for Technology in Education Framework The College Board Computational Thinking Framework Cross-walk with and customize to Kansas Vision for Education

3 Timeline Form committee: March – May 2018 First meeting: June 2018
First draft creation: June – July 2018 Collect public feedback: July – August 2018 Second draft creation: September – October 2018 Public comment: October – December 2018 Third draft creation: January 2019 Present to KSBE for final comment: February 2019 Present to KSBE for approval: March 2019

4 Committee Membership 24-28 members total, writing and reviewing sub-committees 4-6 Business & Industry representatives Garmin KC Tech Council 2-4 Post-secondary Education representatives Representation from all grade bands and each of the 10 Board of Education Districts
