Grace, Hope and Peace
2
Acts 27:20 “When neither sun nor stars appeared for many days, and no small tempest lay on us, all hope of our being saved was at last abandoned.” 2 Cor. 1:9-10 “. . . But that was to make us rely not on ourselves but on God who raises the dead. . . On him we have set our hope that he will deliver us again.” Rom. 4:18. “In hope he believed against hope, that he should become the father of many nations, as he had been told, ‘So shall your offspring be.’”

Salvation Eph. 2:7-9. “so that in the coming ages he might show the immeasurable riches of his grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus. For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast.” Rom. 3: “for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and are justified by his grace as a gift, through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus” Rom. 11:6. “But if it is by grace, it is no longer on the basis of works; otherwise grace would no longer be grace.”

None of that Earns Salvation!
Luke 17:10 “Even so you also, when you shall have done all the things that are commanded you, say, We are unprofitable servants; we have done that which it was our duty to do.”
5
My Hope is in His Grace. 1 Peter 1:13 “Therefore, preparing your minds for action, and being sober-minded, set your hope fully on the grace that will be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ.” 2 Thess. 2: “Now may our Lord Jesus Christ himself, and God our Father, who loved us and gave us eternal comfort and good hope through grace, comfort your hearts and establish them in every good work and word.”
6
My Hope is in the Promise of God.
Can I trust that? 1 Cor. 1:9 “God is faithful, by whom you were called into the fellowship of his Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.” Heb. 6: “So when God desired to show more convincingly to the heirs of the promise the unchangeable character of his purpose, he guaranteed it with an oath, so that by two unchangeable things, in which it is impossible for God to lie, we who have fled for refuge might have strong encouragement to hold fast to the hope set before us.”
7
We can have Peace. Eph. 6:15 “and, as shoes for your feet, having put on the readiness given by the gospel of peace.” Phil. 4:6-7 “do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”

My hope is in God’s promises and grace, NOT in my own righteousness.
1 Pet. 1:21 “who through him are believers in God, who raised him from the dead and gave him glory, so that your faith and hope are in God.” My hope is in God’s promises and grace, NOT in my own righteousness.
