3. Chemistry Review
Chemistry is the study of how matter interacts to form different substances.
These substances can be atoms, molecules, or materials.
Chemistry is used in many professions such as: cooking, cosmetic production, engineering, and ecology

4. Vocab review
In your notebooks, write down as many vocabulary words you can remember from Chemistry

5. Important Vocab Atom= Electron= Neutron= Proton= Molecule= Reaction=
Equation=
The smallest partice of matter
A negatively charged particle in an atom responsible for bonding
A particle with no charge that exists in the nucleus of an atom
A postively charged particle that exists in the nucleus of an atom
A grouping of bonded atoms
When two or more atoms with compatible electron configurations combine to form a single entity
A mathematical expression used to tell the story of molecular recombination

6. What is matter?
Matter is anything that has mass and takes up space

7. Physics Review Newton’s 1st law
An object at rest will stay at rest until acted upon by a force
Newton’s 2nd law
Force equals mass X acceleration
Newton’s 3rd law
Every action has an equal and opposite reaction, OR
Energy (or matter) is neither created nor destroyed.

8. Why do Equations need to be balanced?
Because matter is neither created nor destroyed,
For example,
If we have two pieces of bread and 3 slices of ham, we would have one ham sandwich. Our equation would be:
2b + 3 h = 1 2b3h
** same # of atoms on both sides**
The expression we use to tell the story of the reaction needs to show the same # of atoms on both sides

Yellow
Is the color of gold, butter and ripe lemons. In the spectrum of visible light, yellow is found between green and orange.
Blue
Is the colour of the clear sky and the deep sea. It is located between violet and green on the optical spectrum.
Red
Is the color of blood, and because of this it has historically been associated with sacrifice, danger and courage.
