4. Demonstrative adjectives…
go before nouns
agree in number and gender with the nouns they describe
Examples: Este uniforme es de José.
(This uniform is José’s.)
Estas atletas son buenas.
(These athletes are good.)

5. If something is close (aquí)…
masculine feminine singular este (this) esta (this) plural estos (these) estas (these)

6. If something is not as close (allí)…
masculine feminine singular ese (that) esa (that) plural esos (those) esas (those)

7. If something is far (allá)…
masculine feminine singular aquel aquella (that over there) (that over there) plural aquellos aquellas (those over there) (those over there)

12. Neuter Demonstrative Pronouns
Three pronouns are used to refer to circumstance or genereal nouns.
Esto (this), eso (that), aquello (that).
Example: Esto no es posible. (This is not possible.)
