GCC BUILDING SECURITY PROCEDURE Procedure manual at each access door Pocket card with abbreviated instructions Access code is the SAME as security code! Access will be limited to normal hours of 5:30am until 10:00pm for those without security training.

SECTION ONE General Security Procedures AUTOMATIC SECURITY SYSTEM OPERATION The alarm system is programmed to automatically arm or turn itself on at 10:00pm each night and off the next morning at 5:30am. HOWEVER, PHYSICAL SECURITY CHECK MUST BE DONE!

SECTION TWO PHYSICAL SECURITY Critical that doors are secured. WHY? IT IS OUR BEST DEFENSE AGAINST VANDALS, BURGLARS & HELPS POLICE! Interior lighting is critical. WHY?

LOG LAST PERSON MUST ENTER NAME EACH DOOR MUST BE CHECKED

SECTION THREE TURNING ON SYSTEM All-Call PAGE – To insure no one is left in the building you should make a page to notify everyone that you are about to turn on (arm) the alarm system. Dial *10 (Wait for a response)

SECTION THREE TURNING ON SYSTEM If you have properly followed the Physical Security check, you should see a Green Ready light on the alarm keypad, Display on keypad should read ………………. GRACE CC PLANO READY TO ARM

SECTION THREE TURNING ON SYSTEM IF you do not have a green ready light press * to see which zone(s) have a problem, look them up on the map & recheck that they are closed and locked. SECTION THREE TURNING ON SYSTEM With the GREEN ready light on…. With the GREEN ready light on…. Know your security code…. Know your security code…. Be sure you have keys, handbags, etc. Be sure you have keys, handbags, etc. You must use a door with electronic access to exit – you cannot use another door! ENTER YOUR CODE, THEN PRESS 2 – YOU SHOULD HEAR TWO BEEPS and the RED ARMED LIGHT SHOULD COME ON – YOU HAVE 45 SECONDS TO EXIT!

SECTION THREE TURNING ON SYSTEM After exiting – check to insure the electronic doors are locked After exiting – check to insure the electronic doors are locked IF they fail to lock, return into the building and immediately turn-off alarm system (your code +1) and call someone on the Emergency Contact List PLEASE DO NOT LEAVE THE BUILDING UNLOCKED!

SECTION FOUR TURNING OFF SYSTEM IMPORTANT: You MUST enter through the electronic access doors where the alarm keypads are located… Entering through the side doors WILL activate an alarm if it is turned on and you will have to call the monitoring center to cancel the Police Dispatch!

SECTION FOUR TURNING OFF SYSTEM IMPORTANT: If the keypad beeps rapidly upon entering the premises, it indicates that an alarm has occurred during your absence. Depending on the time of day or circumstances and you feel unsafe or believe some unauthorized person is in the building, LEAVE IMMEDIATELY and CONTACT THE POLICE or CONTACT SOMEONE ON THE GCC FALSE ALARM CONTACT LIST from a nearby safe location.

SECTION FOUR TURNING OFF SYSTEM Normal entry - Keypad should be beeping slowly. TO TURN OFF - Enter your security code and immediately press 1. (Repeat if you hit a wrong number or system fails to shut off – remain calm) Normal entry - Keypad should be beeping slowly. TO TURN OFF - Enter your security code and immediately press 1. (Repeat if you hit a wrong number or system fails to shut off – remain calm) The Ready message will be displayed (if no alarms have occurred while armed) and the keypad will beep once to confirm that the system is disarmed. SECTION FOUR TURNING OFF SYSTEM IF SYSTEM FAILS TO SHUT OFF AND KEYPAD INDICATES AN ALARM CONDITION PLEASE GO TO FALSE ALARM CONTACT SECTION FIVE AND FOLLOW PROCEDURE FOR CANCELLING THE POLICE DISPATCH – THEN CALL SOMEONE ON THE GCC EMERGENCY CONTACT LIST FOR HELP.
