16 Team Recommendations Based on college equivalencies: what can be found in college curriculum Credit Categories Vocational Certificate Lower Division Baccalaureate/Associate Upper Division Baccalaureate Graduate

17 ACE Review Summary No magic elixir Not always credit
Content, scope, and rigor Learning outcomes; alignment to assessment Current curriculum Not always credit Insufficient materials Inadequate Assessments Limited scope Too military specific Faculty collaboration 100% consensus Aligned subject area expertise Also a multidisciplinary approach

18 Creating the Maps

19 Not a quick or easy process
A perfect match is rare No minimum number of crosswalk credits are required to constitute a “map” Most Credit for Prior Learning processes demand more proof of learning than traditional courses

20 Institutions are not required to apply ACE recommendation
Institutions are not limited by the ACE recommendation Military training can be bundled with other forms of prior learning assessment

21 The Joint Services Transcript (JST) https://jst.doded.mil
Academically accepted document Validates service member's occupational experience; formal military training aligns ACE college credit recommendations Owned and issued by respective service Central support services JST Operations ACE supplies data performs quality checks on transcript cannot make changes to JST Member’s Individual Record ACE Guide The JST Service’s Registrar System
