Foundation High School Program
Beginning with the school year, the state adopted a new graduation plan known as the Foundation High School Program.
The program consists of 22 credits with the opportunity to earn 4 additional credits (for a total of 26 credits) in one of the endorsement areas. In addition, a student may earn the Distinguished Level of Achievement as well as Performance Acknowledgments by completing certain additional requirements.

Averaging Policy

10. Averaging Policy
Students must have a semester grade
of at least a 65 to qualify for the averaging of two semesters.
The average of both semesters must be a 70 or higher for credit to be earned.
Averaging policy does not apply for lost credits due to attendance.

13. Credit Recovery
Local Credit by Exam--- students may take a local CBE for a course they have previously failed or lost credit in. (70%)
Plato--These classes are for courses that students have failed, or lost credit due to attendance, however, they must meet specific requirements.
Summer School---students can recover credits that they previously failed or lost credit in or can take classes (Speech, Health or BUSIM1) for acceleration for $150 per ½ credit.

15. AP and Dual Credit + Similarities + Differences
Both expose students to college level work
Both allow students to earn college credits while in high school
+ Differences
Dual credit performance is based on a course grade while AP scores are based on a standardized exam.
AP students take the course in a high school setting with other high school students and high school teacher.
Dual credit may take place with a high school teacher or a college professor.
Dual credit classes will have a $50 fee and AP classes are free.
