All God’s people KNOW (mentally) that heaven is our eternal dwelling. Not all God’s people LIVE (practically) with the mindset of a heavenly citizenship.

6. A Pilgrimage Mentality on Earth
Our focus is always future (heavenly) aimed. Cp. Heb. 11:13
Our lives look more and more foreign to this world because it looks more and more like the life of Christ. 1 Pet. 2:11-12

7. The Result of a Heavenly Focus
We are not weighed down with the cares of this world. Heb. 12:1-3
Our desires are on the Spirit of God and not the works of our flesh. Rom. 8:1ff
Our focus is outward: serving God and others. Jn. 13:12-17; Matt. 28:18-20

8. Consequence of a Heavenly Focus
The world (and worldly among the saints) will hate you: bank on it. Jn. 15: (* Don’t be hated for evil-doing, but for the cause of Jesus. 1 Pet. 4:12-17)
But, you are a sweet aroma to those who would accept our Lord!
