2. Charge 1
To explore the possibility of a required meaningful, professional experience for every student, as specified in the Strategic Long Range Plan; related to this, to develop a vision and/or mission statement for the internship program and potentially for experiential education in its entirety at York College.

3. Charge 2
To review the nomenclature section (Faculty Manual Section C2.9A) of the internship program and revise the terminology and definition used for internships at York College so as to more accurately articulate the vision and purpose of the internship program’s future directions.

4. Charge 3
To review and agree upon essential criteria for an experience to qualify as an internship-for- academic-credit at York College.

5. Charge 4
To evaluate and affirm or recommend changes to the following policies:
required GPA of 2.5,
required 60 credits.

6. Charge 5
To thoroughly assess and re-establish recommendations regarding supervision of interns by York College faculty and the required academic work produced by the interns.

7. Charge 6
To review aspects of the program’s support (Faculty Manual C2.9II) and make recommendations on the various roles; this shall serve to more accurately reflect the duties of all parties and improve communication among York College employees and between York College and the internship sites.

8. Charge 7
To evaluate the need for and, if appropriate, recommend procedures for updating or establishing better policies related to issues of potential liability in the internship program, including:
a clear plan of action for when unexpected or problematic incidents occur during an internship,
a policy regarding dual relationships in internships,
a commitment to a fair and ethical posting process, and
processes designed to assist students in making informed decisions regarding safety issues.

9. Charge 8
To create an on-going review process for the internship-for-academic-credit program with special emphasis placed on the results of annual outcomes assessments and evaluations.
