‘FRUITY’

CONCEPT AND AIMS I hope to produce a gift and stationary collection for my final major project. This will include items such as notebooks, phone cases, diaries, folders etc. The project will also be mainly print based. I thought of the idea of looking at fruit after browsing what was currently in stores that specialise in stationary such as Paperchase and was intrigued by the use of fruit in patterns. Exploring fruit as the theme will also centre around both the exterior and interior of different kinds of fruit as well as detailed aspects such as seeds.

RESEARCH TO UNDERTAKE For this project I intend to use both primary and secondary sources. I will take photographs of fruit and also source images from places such as Pinterest to access higher quality photographs as well as different artistic styles I could draw inspiration from. I will also look at current collections; Paperchase have recently released a gift and stationary collection which includes patterns containing fruit. What will I look at? -fruit subsections (berries / citrus etc) -wider context (plant trees/orchids etc) -seeds -skin -dying with fruit

I will also focus more on motif and pattern development by returning to basic techniques such as mirror motifs. I would also like to explore screen printing further. MATERIALS AND RESOURCES NEEDED Fabric is selected colour scheme Acrylic/watercolour paint Acetate Tracing paper Coloured card Acess to print room for screen printing/ foiling/ vinyls Photoshop/illustrator Ability to get designs printed onto stationary?

INTENDED OUTCOMES AND SUMMARY
The outcome of this project would be a gift and stationary collection based around fruit. I would focus on the bright colours and texture of the fruit and I would start the project by producing lots of drawings both experimental and also observational.
