7 Role Play -- Alibis A famous painting has been stolen from a local museum. It disappeared sometime last Sunday afternoon between 12 p.m. and 4 p.m. A: Student B suspects you stole the painting. Make up an alibi. Take notes on what you were doing that day. Then answer Student B’s questions. B: You are a police detective. You think Student A stole the painting. Add more questions to the notebook. Then ask Student A the questions.

Making Dialogues (1) Remember to greet with your friend before you start inviting S1: You are going to invite your friend to go to the swimming pool with you on Wednesday afternoon. S2: You are invited to go swimming with your friend on Wednesday afternoon, but you have other plans that day. You are going to suggest another time to your friend.

25 Making Dialogues (2) S1: There is a famous person giving a lecture on campus, and you want to invite your colleague to come with you. S2: Your colleague wants you to go to a lecture with him/her. After hearing the details about the lectures from your colleague, you feel that you don’t want to go. Find an excuse and turn down the invitation politely.

26 Making Dialogues (3) S1: You heard that there is a new movie out on screen, and you want to invite your friend to go with you. So you are going to call your friend to talk about this. S2: You got a call from your friend and learned that he/she wanted to watch a movie. But you are not sure whether it is a good movie and whether you have time. So you are going to ask for details.
