The objective of the OECD
Publish in mid-2004 a specific publication on general government, including the data from Tables 2, 9, 11, by sub-sector, plus financial tables (flows and stocks). Important use by the economics department (ECO), in particular data by sub sector for the OECD horizontal project on fiscal relations between Central and Local authorities

The current situation (see table in page 5 of paper)
All zones: Table 2: the situation has very much improved North America, Asia, Non-EU and Non-EEA countries: Table 9 and 11: A special effort is needed from Australia, New Zealand, Switzerland, Turkey, USA. All countries should make an effort on breakdown by sub-sector EU and EEA countries Table 11 by subs-ector: only half of the countries report data on expenditures in COFOG by sub-sector. A special effort is needed in 2004

NEW TABLES (see paper copies in circulation)
In coordination with Eurostat, a new set of tables will be sent for transmission in 2004 Table 2: main new feature: breakdown by sub- sector Table 9: detailed information by sub-sector Table 11: detailed information by sub-sector OECD will send to non EU-EEA countries these new tables in January 2004, for transmission during 2004
