How are the final scores calculated and determined into a payment adjustment?
Budget neutral (2017 MIPS reporting affects payment year 2019)
CMS Calculates the number of MIPS EC did not participate
Those ECs are eligible for the full negative payment adjustment or -4% in 2019
Funds used for the participating MIPS EC that are eligible for a positive payment adjustment based on their MIPS Final Score
Scaling factor determined between just over 0 to 3.0
4% x scaling factor = payment adjustment %
Example: scaling factor determined to be .2 and a MIPS high performer would get 4% x .2 =.8%
Exceptional bonus for scores over 70 point threshold
