One manual to address Rainforest Alliance Certified™ seal as well as Rainforest Alliance Verified™ mark for forestry, farm and tourism businesses

7. Colour
The black and white seal is still permitted for black and white print.
When marks and text are only in white on a coloured background, the seal may be approved in a reverse white format.
Any other colour exception (such as for limited colour print) will need approval from Marks Committee, which will take 1-2 weeks.

8. Size
The RAC seal must be the same height or smaller than the FSC label.
For the promotional panel, this excludes the promotional statement
20% clear space surrounding the RAC seal is required

9. FSC® Certified Packaging and RAC Seal
For packaging of farm products, it may not be clear if the RAC seal is used for the packaging or for the farm product (ex. FSC certified juice box)
In order to ensure it is clear that packaging is certified, a qualifying statement is required.

11. Guidance for FSC Certified Packaging
Currently placed in the Agriculture section (page 26) of the marks manual, as it relates to farm products
This rule will be moved to the Forestry section in the next edition.
The rule applies to certified packaging of farm products only, not all FSC certified packaging.
The rule applies to all farm products, not just certified farm products.

12. Examples of Qualifying/Promotional Statements
We are FSC certified by the Rainforest Alliance.
[Product] is FSC certified by the Rainforest Alliance.
FSC certification by the Rainforest Alliance benefits the environment and local communities.
FSC certification by the Rainforest Alliance supports a healthy environment.
FSC certification by the Rainforest Alliance supports the growth of responsible forestry practices

13. Accurate Claims
Statements must be clear and reflect the certificate scope.
FSC Mix products cannot be claimed as coming from well- managed forests, as not all inputs are FSC-certified.
Avoid the phrase “working with” or “partnering with” Rainforest Alliance when talking about FSC certification.
