4. I. What does the Bible say about the unborn child?

5. The Bible teaches that it is a sin to kill an innocent human life on purpose

6. Gen. 9:6
[6] Whoso sheddeth man's blood, by man shall his blood be shed: for in the image of God made he man.

[17] A proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood,

8. A study of the Greek word brephos and the way it is translated will show us God’s thinking about the unborn baby

9. Babe in the womb

10. Lk. 1:41
[41] And it came to pass, that, when Elisabeth heard the salutation of Mary, the babe (brephos) leaped in her womb; and Elisabeth was filled with the Holy Ghost:

22. II. Euthanasia

23. Euthanasia = “good death” or “happy death”
“It is the taking of a human life by another person to prevent further pain and suffering.”

24. Two types of Euthanasia:
1. Voluntary – a patient wants to die and asks for help to speed up the process – this is assisted suicide

25. 2. Involuntary – “This is to cause the death of one who is not able to ask for help in dying. This would include little babies or those in a coma.”

26. “Those who believe in euthanasia say that if a person is not normal or does not have a productive life, he should be killed.
But what is normal?
Who has the right to say what is a productive life?

27. There are many examples of people who are not normal, but are living happy, useful lives. Deformed babies, old people, sick people, and mentally disturbed people are targets of euthanasia.

28. When we take the decision for life or death out of the hands of God, and place it in the hands of imperfect people, many mistakes will be made!”

29. The practice of euthanasia is wrong because it violates the principle that life is given by God

31. Life comes from God – it is God’s decision to give life and to take it away

33. In the Bible shedding of innocent blood is called murder

40. III. Solving the problem

41. This whole issue of euthanasia has come about as a result of the cheapening of human life.
Abortion, infanticide, and euthanasia are all results of the loss of respect for human life.
When people understand and respect the sanctity of human life, they will not vote to end it.

42. To Solve the problem in our society - we must strengthen the home

43. Deut. 6:6-7
[6] And these words, which I command thee this day, shall be in thine heart: [7] And thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children, and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest down, and when thou risest up.

44. Prov. 22:6
[6] Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.

45. Ps. 127:3-5
[3] Lo, children are an heritage of the LORD: and the fruit of the womb is his reward.
[4] As arrows are in the hand of a mighty man; so are children of the youth.
[5] Happy is the man that hath his quiver full of them: they shall not be ashamed, but they shall speak with the enemies in the gate.

[1] Children, obey your parents in the Lord: for this is right.
[2] Honour thy father and mother; (which is the first commandment with promise;)

47. [3] That it may be well with thee, and thou mayest live long on the earth.
[4] And, ye fathers, provoke not your children to wrath: but bring them up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord.

48. “Let’s teach the value of human life, and let’s oppose the taking of innocent human life!”
