1. There is a runner on 1st. The batter comes to bat using a BESR bat
1 .There is a runner on 1st. The batter comes to bat using a BESR bat. During his at bat, the base runner steals 2nd and 3rd. The batter, then gets a base hit scoring the runner. The Coach legally appeals the batter for using an illegal bat and the umpire agrees. Batter ruled out. Runner returns to 1st. 2. Runner on 3rd, two outs. Runner on 3rd is coming home on a "suicide squeeze". Batter bunts the ball, pitcher fields the ball and attempts to retire the runner at home, but runner is ruled "safe". The catcher then attempts to retire the batter and the batter is ruled out for 3' lane interference. The umpires allow the run to score because the interference was the second play. 3. Batter hits a "ground rule " double and misses 1st. The pitcher, while, putting the ball back in play and still in contact with the rubber, throws to 1st for the appeal. Umpire rules a "balk" for throwing to an unoccupied base and disallows any subsequent appeal. 4. Bases loaded, two outs, 3-2 pitch, runners moving. Umpire calls ball four. Runner advancing from 2nd to 3rd overruns 3rd base and the catcher realizing that throws him out before the runner on 3rd has crossed home plate. Umpires disallow the run because this is now a "time play". 5. If a pitcher goes to his mouth, while in contact with the rubber, with runner(s) on base, it should be called a "balk". 6. If a pitcher goes to his mouth, while in contact with the rubber, with no one on base, it should be called a "ball

7. Runner on 1st is stealing 2nd
7. Runner on 1st is stealing 2nd. The batter swings and misses at the pitch and, subsequently, hinders the catcher's throw. Umpire rules "batter's interference", however, the catcher is able to make a perfect throw and the ensuing play ends up in a rundown. Umpire allows the play to continue because the catcher was able to make the throw. 8. If a pitcher "balks" and there is a play immediately following the "balk", the manager of the offense may have the option of taking the play. 9. There is a sinking line drive to center field with no one on base. There is a question as to the "catch". The plate umpire rules a "catch" and the coach appeals that the plate umpire ask the base umpire for help. The base umpire states: his responsibility was not the "catch" but insuring the batter touched first base. 10. The proper mechanic/technique during an "Infield Fly" is for the base umpire to "point at where the ball is" and then allow the plate umpire to invoke the rule. 11. Play #1: Runner on third, one out. On a suicide squeeze, the catcher interferes with the batter. Umpire awards batter first and runner returns to third.. 12. In Play #1: Umpire awards runner Home and batter continues his at bat. 13. In Play #1: Umpire awards runner Home and awards batter first. 14. Play #2: Runner on third, one out. On a suicide squeeze, the batter interferes with the catcher. Umpire rules batter out, runner returns to third.

15. In Play #2: Umpire rules runner out, batter continues to bat.
In Play#2: Umpire rules both batter and runner out. 17. In Play #2: With two outs, who is declared out the batter or the runner? 18. Play #3: Runner on second, one out. The pitcher fails to come to a complete stop and the umpire rules a balk. The pitcher continues to pitch and the batter gets a base hit to left. As the play continues, the runner on second is thrown out at the plate and the batter thrown out at second. Umpire rules the balk killed the play, awards the runner third, batter returns to bat, base hit nullified. 19. In Play #3: Umpire awards runner third on the balk and awards the batter first because of the hit. 20. In Play #3: Umpire rules play stands, both runners out, inning over "Miller Time". 21. On an attempted pickoff at first, the pitcher throws to the first baseman, who is fifteen feet behind the base. Umpire rules a balk. 22. On an attempted pickoff at second, the pitcher throws to the shortstop, who is thirty feet away from the base. Umpire rules a balk. 23. On an attempted steal, the catcher leaves the catcher's box, moving laterally to his right before the pitcher releases the ball. Umpire rules a balk. 24. On an attempted steal, the catcher leaves the catcher's box, moving forward in front of the plate before the pitcher releases the ball. Umpire rules a balk. 25. If there is a different penalty in the previous question, what is it and what would be the end result?
