Welcome to Monticello Rotary Club!

What is Rotary? On a GLOBAL level: We are 1.2 million neighbors, friends, and community leaders who come together to create positive, lasting change in our communities and around the world. We make a difference at home and around the world: Our members can be found in your community and across the globe. We have identified specific causes to target to maximize our local and global impact. At the same time, we understand that each community has its own unique needs and concerns. Through our network of resources and partners, we help clubs focus their service efforts in promoting peace, fighting disease, providing clean water, saving mothers and children, supporting education, and growing local economies.

After the business portion of the meeting President Joe D'Abbraccio had the pleasure of gifting the CRMC Foundation with $ Joan Farrow, the lovely president of the hospital foundation and our guest speaker for the evening, accepted the donation. Joan brought us up to date on the happenings at CRMC. Officer Rick Wood and his K9 partner Deming put on a show for our members at the July 7th meeting. After giving a lot of detailed information about what he does, Officer Wood took our members outside the River Edge Restaurant and showed us what his K9 partner Deming is trained to do. The presentation was impressive.

donated $750 to the local D.A.R.E. Program (Drug Abuse Resistance Education), which is administered by the Monticello Police Department. Lt. Alvarez (retired) and Sgt. Crumley of the police department accepted the Club’s donation, and updated us as to current D.A.R.E activities and events. The Youth Exchange Weekend was on May 15th-17th. Seven foreign exchange students living in our Rotary District for this year attended. They were from France, Brazil, Belgium, Thailand, Taiwan, Germany and Italy. It was a successful, highly enjoyable weekend, with considerable interaction and new friendships formed between the visiting students and our Interact Club members.
